Photos circulating online reveal Nek Mohammad, a BJP representative from Madhya Pradesh, is not the individual involved in the abuse of PM Modi in Bihar.
In a recent turn of events, a misunderstanding has arisen regarding photos circulating on social media, which allegedly show the same person abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Opposition's meeting in Bihar. However, it is essential to clarify that these photos are not of the individual who was subsequently arrested in Bihar for making such offensive remarks.
The viral photos, in fact, show Nek Mohammad, a BJP member from Kotma in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh. Nek Mohammad's Facebook account bio indicates his association with the Bharatiya Janata Party, and he has publicly emphasised that Modi is their leader.
A Google Lens search of the viral photo led to a Facebook post dated 18 July 2025, featuring the same photo of a person wearing a BJP scarf. This post was shared by Nek Mohammad himself.
It is crucial to note that Nek Mohammad has clarified that he has no connection with Bihar, has never visited the state, has not abused anyone, and that his photos are being misused to defame him and the BJP.
Meanwhile, in Darbhanga, Bihar, a political row ensued over the use of such language in a public programme. On 27 August 2025, a video surfaced of a man using offensive language against Prime Minister Modi and his late mother during the Opposition bloc's Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga. The accused in this case, Mohammad Rizvi alias Raja, is a resident of Bhapura in the Singhwara police station area of Darbhanga district.
The Darbhanga police have confirmed the arrest of Rizvi alias Raja on 29 August 2025. SDPO-2 Surendra Kumar Suman of Darbhanga Sadar stated that based on the findings so far, it appears that the accused is associated with the Congress. However, it is essential to mention that the Darbhanga police have not independently verified the political affiliation of Rizvi alias Raja.
In conclusion, it is important to distinguish between the two individuals involved in this matter. Nek Mohammad, a BJP worker from Kotma, Madhya Pradesh, is not connected to the man arrested for abusive remarks against Prime Minister Modi during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga, Bihar. The arrested individual, Mohammad Rizvi alias Raja, is a resident of Singhwara area in Darbhanga, Bihar. Both individuals have been clarified their positions publicly, with Nek Mohammad denying any connection to Bihar or the abusive remarks, and Rizvi alias Raja being arrested by the Darbhanga police.
