Phillies Fans Sleep at Citizens Bank Park to Raise $1M for Homeless Youth

Over 300 people slept under the stars at Citizens Bank Park last weekend to support homeless youth. The event, part of Covenant House’s National Sleep Out, brought together Philadelphia Phillies fans, former players, and community members. Together, they raised more than $1 million—nearly double the previous total for this fundraiser in the city.

The sleepout marked the first time participants bedded down on a major league baseball field. Organised by two lifelong Phillies fans alongside club owner John Middleton, the event aimed to highlight the struggles of young people without homes. Among the attendees was former player and manager Larry Bowa, who joined to show his support.

The fundraiser exceeded expectations, bringing in record-breaking donations for Covenant House Pennsylvania. The money will help expand services for homeless youth across the region. Organisers and participants alike emphasised the importance of continued support for those in need.
