Philadelphia's Joy of Sharing Toy Drive calls for holiday donations to help kids in need
A long-running TV campaign in the Philadelphia area is once again bringing holiday cheer to children in need. The Joy of Sharing Toy Drive has collected and distributed toys to over 100,000 youngsters over the years. This year, organisers are calling for more support to continue the tradition.
The campaign invites residents to donate new, unwrapped toys at several drop-off points. These include the Philadelphia Studios, The Salvation Army Headquarters, the Mothers in Charge Lobby, and various Ensemble Arts Philly venues. Donations can also be made directly to The Salvation Army and Mothers In Charge.
Several public events will feature toy collection points as well. Fans attending Philadelphia Flyers home games, the Rittenhouse Square Tree Lighting, or a Delaware Blue Coats basketball match can bring along a gift. Other drop-off opportunities will be available at Philadelphia Wings lacrosse games, Lady B's Holiday Basement Party, and Trans Siberian Orchestra concerts.
For those unable to donate in person, a simple text message can help. By texting KETTLE to 31333, supporters can contribute funds to the drive.
The Joy of Sharing Toy Drive has become a holiday staple in Philadelphia. With multiple ways to give, organisers hope to reach even more children this year. The campaign relies on community generosity to make the season brighter for families in need.
