PETA offers €500 reward after abandoned rats and cats suffer in freezing cold
A series of animal abandonments in the Neckar-Alb region has prompted PETA to take action. The organisation is now offering a €500 reward for information that helps identify those responsible. Several cases have left pets in dangerous conditions during freezing temperatures.
In Wannweil, two young sibling rats were discovered in a transport crate, left exposed to the cold. One managed to escape and remains missing. The surviving rat, now named Winky, is being cared for but urgently needs a new home with other rats.
The €500 reward aims to help solve these cases and hold the abusers accountable. Winky, the remaining rat, still needs a suitable home, while the cats are recovering under shelter care. Authorities continue to investigate the incidents.
