In a tragic incident that unfolded near the village of Krottensee, which is part of Neuhaus on the Pegnitz in the Nuremberg region, a 37-year-old woman from Munich suffered serious injuries after a fall from a significant height while climbing at the Maximilian Rock.

The accident site, known for its popular climbing activities, was reportedly very difficult to access. Emergency services, including firefighters, the Bavarian Red Cross, mountain rescue, and three doctors, were swiftly dispatched to the scene to treat the woman.

According to initial investigations, the woman's fall may have been caused by a handling error with her climbing equipment. Her partner, who was present during the fall, was also on the scene.

The woman was transported to a hospital via rescue helicopter and underwent surgery. The exact nature of her injuries, however, has not been specified.

Experts in climbing accidents from the Regensburg Police Headquarters have been assigned to investigate the incident. While the identities of these experts have not been publicly named, they will be conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.

The police have reported on the incident and are urging caution for all climbers in the area. As the investigation continues, the climbing community and the public await more information about the woman's condition and the findings of the investigation.
