Pennsylvania bans three adults for leaving children unattended in casino parking lots
Three adults in Pennsylvania have been banned from all casinos in the state after leaving children unattended in vehicles while gambling. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) took action as part of its Involuntary Casino Exclusion List, which now includes 1,448 individuals. The incidents occurred at two Hollywood Casino locations, prompting fines and stricter enforcement.
At Hollywood Casino Morgantown, a man and a woman left two children, aged 11 and 12, alone in a car for over 30 minutes. In a separate case at Hollywood Casino York, another woman abandoned three children—aged 2, 6, and 12—in a vehicle for nearly half an hour. Both incidents violated state laws prohibiting minors from being left unattended in casino areas, including parking lots.
The PGCB also fined Lucky Seven Travel Plaza in Lock Haven $50,000 for multiple violations at its video gaming terminal (VGT) facility. Owners Vasas Inc. faced an extra $5,000 penalty each for allowing minors to access and gamble on machines, as well as failing to maintain proper staffing. The facility operates under the name Lucky Seven Travel Plaza. Elsewhere, Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia agreed to a $12,000 fine after a compromised deck of cards was found in play. Hollywood Casino York also settled for $10,000 after permitting an excluded individual onto its gaming floor. These penalties come as the PGCB reports rising gambling revenue, driven largely by online betting and slot machines. Video gaming terminals remain widely available across Pennsylvania, with locations mapped by the PGCB at truck stops, airports, and convenience stores.
The three adults now face a statewide casino ban, while the fined establishments must comply with stricter oversight.
