Peer-to-peer fantasy sports platform debuted by FanDuel
FanDuel Launches Peer-to-Peer Fantasy Sports Product, FanDuel Picks
In a move to bolster its public policy expertise and expand its offerings, FanDuel has unveiled a new peer-to-peer fantasy sports product called FanDuel Picks. The announcement comes just in time for the NFL season, with the top scorers in FanDuel Picks set to win a share of a prize pool.
FanDuel Picks allows players to engage with their favourite athletes in a unique way, offering the chance to win up to 1,000 times their entry fee. Players can select between 3 and 6 players, and build a lineup to predict whether an athlete will beat their projected stats during games.
Every correct selection in FanDuel Picks earns players points, with the 'more' or 'less' selection model offering a streamlined fantasy sports experience. The new product is available in more than a dozen states, including Texas, South and North Dakota, Georgia, Alabama, Alaska, Missouri, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and several other states.
FanDuel Picks is accessible to customers in select U.S. states including Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia, and West Virginia. Every new FanDuel Picks customer who plays $5 will receive $60 in bonus funds.
To further strengthen its public policy expertise, FanDuel has hired two executives: Jonathan Nabavi as Vice President of Federal Affairs, and Shailagh Murray as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs.
In other news, Flutter Entertainment paid Boyd Gaming $1.8bn for its 5% stake in FanDuel. Boyd Gaming recently sold its stake in FanDuel to Flutter Entertainment, marking a significant development in the fantasy sports industry.
With the launch of FanDuel Picks, FanDuel continues to push the boundaries of fantasy sports, offering a social way for fans to engage with their favourite sports and athletes. The company is undoubtedly set to make a big impact in the coming NFL season.
