Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) Steps Up Opposition Against Right-wing Policies

The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), led by its new general secretary, Paulo Raimundo, has announced its intention to strongly oppose right-wing policies, particularly those that will be presented in next month's State Budget.

At the recently concluded Left-wing Festival, Raimundo delivered a speech outlining his party's stance. He criticised the far-right party Chega, labelling it a "factory of lies."

Raimundo, who took over the leadership of the PCP, a party ideologically characterized as communist and Marxist–Leninist, made a promise to fight against right-wing policies. He also referred to the ideology of the International Leninist (IL) during his speech, indicating a commitment to global communist solidarity.

The State Budget for next month is a topic of concern for the PCP. The opposition party has stated that it will scrutinise the budget closely, focusing on any policies it deems to be right-wing in nature.

The PCP's opposition is not directed at general policies but specifically at those that align with the right-wing ideology. The party has made it clear that it will oppose the policies of Chega, a far-right party in Portugal.

The PCP's stance against right-wing policies is a significant development in Portuguese politics. Under Raimundo's leadership, the party is expected to play a more active role in shaping the country's political landscape.

As the State Budget is unveiled next month, the PCP will undoubtedly be a vocal critic, pressing for policies that align with its communist and Marxist–Leninist ideology. The party's opposition to right-wing policies is a clear indication of its commitment to left-wing principles and its determination to safeguard the interests of the working class in Portugal.
