Patriotic anthem gains widespread acclaim in the nation
In the heart of Hanoi, on a significant day marking 80 years since the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945), a grand concert titled Tổ Quốc Trong Tim took place. Organised by the Nhân Dân newspaper and the Hà Nội People's Committee, the event was a gift to the people, aimed at celebrating this historic milestone.
The highlight of the concert was the performance of a new patriotic song, "Viết Tiếp Câu Chuyện Hòa Bình," written by composer Nguyễn Văn Chung. The song, which conveys a deep desire for peace from the hearts of every Vietnamese citizen, was first released on August 11, 2025.
Nguyễn Văn Chung, a prolific figure in children's music, has a total of 300 recognized works, as recognised by the Việt Nam Record Organisation in 2022. His repertoire includes hits such as Vầng Trăng Khóc and Chiếc Khăn Gió Ấm, as well as two of the most popular children's songs, Gia Đình Nhỏ - Hạnh Phúc To and Nhật Ký Của Mẹ.
The composition of "Viết Tiếp Câu Chuyện Hòa Bình" was inspired by 'return-to-source' trips and a songwriting movement about President Hồ Chí Minh, the homeland, and the soldiers. The song is dedicated to war martyrs and features today's Vietnamese youth aspiring to flourish globally.
Singer Tùng Dương performed a new arrangement of the song, expressing its continued relevance and meaning. Bùi Hoài Sơn, a member of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education, praised the song, stating that it reflects a deep desire for peace from the hearts of every Vietnamese citizen.
The music video for "Viết Tiếp Câu Chuyện Hòa Bình" was filmed at iconic landmarks in Hà Nội such as Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum, One-Pillar Pagoda, Hoàn Kiếm Lake, and the Temple of Literature. The video reached six billion views on social platforms after it was performed at a grand ceremony in HCM City last April.
On August 19, a music video by Hà Nội University lecturers and students was released, singing "The Story of Peace Continues" in 13 languages, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, and French.
Nguyễn Văn Chung and Quỳnh were honoured by HCM City's publicity, education, and culture authorities for their contribution to promoting patriotism on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 2025). The University of Education Publishing House also released a book entitled The Story of Peace Continues on August 21, featuring a QR code on each page to enhance reader engagement and provide multidimensional experiences.
In a separate development, Singer Tùng Dương's performance of "Viết Tiếp Câu Chuyện Hòa Bình" at the Mỹ Đình National Stadium on August 10 was met with great enthusiasm. Tùng Dương stated that the song was still meaningful to him.
Meanwhile, Nguyễn Văn Chung's previous work, Mom's Diary, released in 2011, quickly gained popularity in Vietnam and abroad, including Japan, where it was translated and sung by Hải Triều.
In conclusion, the performance of "Viết Tiếp Câu Chuyện Hòa Bình" at the Tổ Quốc Trong Tim concert was a powerful and moving tribute to the spirit of peace and unity that continues to define Vietnam. The song, with its universal message of hope and aspiration, has touched the hearts of millions and continues to resonate strongly with the Vietnamese people.
