Partnership Between ROGA and RGC for Responsible Gambling Accreditation
The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) and the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) have announced a new partnership, aiming to develop a Responsible Gambling Certification program in the United States. This joint initiative will focus on creating a more transparent, accountable, and player-focused industry.
Dr. Jennifer Shatley, the Executive Director of ROGA, has welcomed the opportunity to form this new initiative. She stated that the partnership with RGC will advance the mission of building a sustainable online gaming industry based on evidence-based best practices. Sarah McCarthy, the CEO of RGC, is equally pleased to collaborate with ROGA on the new certification program.
The new program's focus includes certification for transparency, accountability, and player safety. It will determine if ROGA's members meet the criteria that the program seeks to champion. The program will offer guidance in key areas such as self-exclusion initiatives, marketing, staff training, and player support tools.
The RGC, a leader in player protection for 40 years, has been championing both prevention and responsible gambling solutions across the world. This new certification program will build on years of evidence-based work and experience.
The new program will immediately seek to certify all of ROGA's members. It will also include public awareness initiatives for responsible play, aiming to increase understanding and promote safe gambling practices.
The two organizations have previously worked together on the "Know Your Play" public awareness initiative, which aimed to raise awareness about responsible play. They have also conducted joint research to better understand responsible gambling tools.
Dr. Wolfgang Stein, who developed the certification program of ROGA and RGC and holds a doctoral degree, will play a crucial role in this partnership. The goal of the certification program is to establish a data-driven and evidence-based model for assessing operator commitment to responsible gambling (RG) and player safety.
This partnership is a significant step towards establishing a safer and more responsible online gaming industry in the United States. By working together, ROGA and RGC aim to create a more transparent, accountable, and player-focused industry that prioritizes player safety and responsible gambling practices.
