Partnering up with DistroKid, the European Music Managers Alliance starts a new collaboration

The European Music Managers Alliance (EMMA) has announced a new partnership with music distribution service DistroKid. This collaboration aims to support European music managers and their creative clients by building partnerships with relevant businesses and services.

Founded in 2018, EMMA acts as an umbrella body and network for 17 national music manager organisations in various European countries. Collectively, EMMA represents over 3,000 music managers in Europe, more than 12,000 artists, and another 600 managers worldwide through allied organisations.

Jess Partridge, the executive director of EMMA, stated that the partnership with DistroKid will help level the playing field of music distribution. DistroKid provides fast-track delivery of audio and video to over 150 digital stores and streaming platforms, making it an ideal partner for EMMA's mission.

The partnership will officially start at the Reeperbahn Festival, with DistroKid serving as official sponsors for EMMA's reception for music managers at Hamburg's East Hotel on September 18, 2025. The reception is open for all Reeperbahn attendees.

Amanda Ferri, VP Marketing at DistroKid, expressed her excitement about partnering with EMMA to support European artists and managers. She noted that this collaboration would offer opportunities for professional development through a series of online workshops and masterclasses in early 2026. Details of these workshops will be announced to EMMA members in the coming months.

DistroKid is used by four million artists and music creators worldwide, and has already helped level the playing field of music distribution, according to Jess Partridge. EMMA is involved in policy and advocacy initiatives on issues such as reform of Europe's music streaming market, the application of artificial intelligence, and the viability of international touring.

The partnership between EMMA and DistroKid underscores both organisations' commitment to supporting the European music industry and its creators. As the music industry continues to evolve, partnerships like this one will play a crucial role in ensuring that European artists and managers have the resources and support they need to thrive.
