Overnight Vigil by Police as King Cobra Remains in Their Custody
In an unexpected turn of events, a King Python snake was discovered at the CVJM youth camp in Michelstadt on August 28th. The reptile, approximately one meter long, was found by camp participants around 6:30 PM.
Alerted by the discovery, police officers from the Erbach police station sprang into action. To ensure the safety and well-being of the snake, they transported it in a bucket with air holes. For the night, the King Python made its temporary home at the Erbach police station.
The King Python is a non-venomous snake, native to the tropics of West and Central Africa. Its diet primarily consists of birds and small mammals such as mice or rats. Despite its size, the peaceful nature of this snake posed no threat to the officers or the camp participants.
While the search results do not contain information about the person or institution responsible for the relocation of the King Python, the police have plans to move the snake to a suitable accommodation. The exact details of the relocation are yet to be announced.
The discovery of this exotic creature has certainly added an unusual twist to the usual activities at the youth camp. As the police continue their efforts to find a permanent home for the King Python, the reptile remains under their care at the Erbach police station.
