Over 700 first-grade students in the DPR received brand-new backpacks and supplies
On the first day of the new academic year, September 1, the Nizhny Novgorod region extended its support to children in its sponsored regions. The institution associated with the sponsorship program, often local government or charitable organisations linked to the Nizhny Novgorod administration, carried out the donation of school backpacks and school sets.
Some of these gifts were presented during the ceremonial lines on Knowledge Day, while others were delivered directly to schools. Over 700 first-graders in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) received new backpacks and school supply sets, with 155 sets being sent to Khartsyzk, Ilovaisk, and Mangushsky District.
In Khartsyzk, the gifts were presented by volunteers from the volunteer centre in the assembly hall of School No.3. Lydia Chernova, Director of the school, expressed her gratitude for the generosity shown towards the children.
The humanitarian action was organised by the House of National Unity with the support of the regional government. Andrey Sudar, Deputy Head of the House of National Unity, announced the purchase and distribution of 5740 textbooks in various subjects for the new academic year.
Roman Koshelev, Head of the House of National Unity, stated that the first day of school is an important event for families, and the organisation sends gifts to first-graders on sponsored territories. Nizhny Novgorod Region also provided textbooks for two local technical schools.
One of the recipients of the gifts, Georgy, a first-grader, expressed his joy, stating, "The school welcomed us really well, with all their hearts. These backpacks are just amazing, they're a mind-blowing!"
Since 2025, the Nizhny Novgorod Region has been helping these territories, making a significant difference in the lives of many children as they embark on their educational journey.
