Over 25 million individuals have explored the Elbphilharmonie-Plaza to date.
The Plaza of the Elbphilharmonie, located in Hamburg, Germany, continues to be a crowd-puller eight years after its opening. This vibrant spot, as stated by Christoph Lieben-Seutter, General Intendant of the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle Hamburg, attracts people from all over the world.
The Plaza, freely accessible daily from 10 am to midnight, invites visitors to stay and explore the concert halls. Visitors access the Plaza via the longest curved escalator in Western Europe, known as the 'Tube'. Upon reaching the top, they are greeted with a 360-degree view of the Elbe, harbor, and city from the observation platform, located at a height of 37 meters.
The observation platform offers a complete tour of the concert hall, making it an ideal spot for both visitors and locals. In fact, over the past eight years, the Plaza has welcomed over 25 million visitors, with around three million people visiting annually.
Christoph Lieben-Seutter, who was the General Intendant of the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle Hamburg in 2025, emphasised the Plaza's lively nature, stating that it attracts people from all corners of the globe. He encourages everyone to visit and experience the Plaza for themselves.
