Over 19,000 households in Almeria receive support from the Minimum Living Allowance scheme
Minimum Vital Income Grants Help Stabilise Households in Almeria, Spain
In August 2021, the Province of Almeria received more than β¬11.6 million through the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) plan, a grant provided by the government to vulnerable populations to prevent poverty and social exclusion. The implementation of this plan, which was decided upon by Prime Minister Pedro SΓ‘nchez under the government of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in 2020, has been a significant tool in the fight against poverty in Spain.
The IMV grants have contributed to creating stable households for children in Almeria, with 19,831 households benefiting from the plan in August. On average, families in Almeria receiving the IMV aid consist of two adults and two children, with single-adult households closely trailing. In total, 41,930 children in Almeria have benefited from the IMV grants since June 2021.
The number of beneficiaries in Spain has increased by 19.2%, with 760,000 households across the country receiving the IMV grants in August. In the entire region of Andalucia, 1,008,060 people benefited from the IMV grants, including 426,338 minors.
The IMV grants provide value for adolescents in Spain, allowing them to access materials for growth and learning. The grants help families in Spain to get back on their feet and lift a significant weight from their shoulders, uplifting the most disadvantaged residents in Almeria. The IMV plan also prevents the risk of poverty as well as social exclusion for the vulnerable population in Almeria, particularly those living alone or in households without financial resources.
Almeria is the Andalucian province with the least amount of aid granted, which suggests a positive outlook on the province's vulnerable population and reinforces Almeria's financial stability and economic well-being. The grants have been instrumental in helping families in Almeria to maintain a stable household income and avoid falling into poverty.
In November 2021, Almeria households received an average of β¬535.55 through the IMV plan. The IMV grants have been crucial in helping families in Spain to stabilise their households and secure a better future for their children. The IMV plan is a testament to the government's commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and ensuring that no one is left behind.
