In this hour of "To the Best of Our Knowledge", we delve into the enigma of our origins as we explore the question: Where do we come from?
Our journey begins with poet Stephen Mitchell, who posits that the answer to this age-old question may be found in our creation stories. As we move forward, we meet Midwife Ina May Gaskin, who believes that humans, in a very literal sense, come from their mothers.
Physicist Michio Kaku offers a more cosmic perspective. He hypothesizes that our existence is the echo or aftermath of a Big Bang within a larger "multiverse," as described by M-theory. This theory envisions our universe as one bubble among an infinite sea of bubble universes created during cosmic inflation.
Intriguingly, Kaku goes a step further, suggesting that humans may not just be the echo of a Big Bang within our own universe, but rather, the reverb of a Big Bang from another universe.
As we continue to unravel the mysteries of our origins, stay tuned to "To the Best of Our Knowledge" for a thought-provoking exploration of beginnings.
