Original Dinosaur Rock Musical staged by WYO PLAY: "Time Traveling Tunes: A Dinosaur Jukebox Adventure"

The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center is set to host the highly-anticipated "Dinosaur Rock Musical: A Jukebox Journey Through Time" on September 6-7. This locally produced musical, written by Grace and Ian Cannon-Wallace, promises an exciting and educational experience for all ages.

Before each show, visitors can enjoy fossil displays, hands-on activities, and educational opportunities provided by the Natural History Museum of Wyoming at Sheridan College and Science Kids.

The original script follows siblings Ella and Thea as they navigate the challenges of growing up, embarking on a magical journey into a dinosaur-filled realm. This realm not only offers a thrilling adventure but also helps Ella and Thea rediscover their bond and embrace their love of the prehistoric past.

Grace Cannon-Wallace, not only writes the musical but also directs the production. Ian Cannon-Wallace contributes creatively to this original musical, which features classic rock hits from the 1960s through the 1980s. The lyrics of these songs have been rewritten to celebrate dinosaurs, with well-known hits like "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf making an appearance.

Stephanie Neujahr serves as the music director for the production. The Young Theatre Makers Ensemble, a WYO PLAY program consisting of middle and high school theater artists, is also participating in the musical.

Tickets for the "Dinosaur Rock Musical: A Jukebox Journey Through Time" can be purchased on wyotheater.com. Showtimes are at 10 a.m., 6:30 p.m. on September 6, and 2 p.m. on September 7. Ticket prices are $9 for children 12 and younger, $12 for students, and $16 for adults.
