Oneida Nation Unveils $50M Point Place Casino Expansion in Bridgeport

The Oneida Indian Nation has completed a $50 million expansion of the Point Place Casino Hotel in Bridgeport, New York. The project marks the largest reinvestment in the property to date, aiming to boost tourism and local economic growth.

The newly expanded casino now features a 99-room hotel, a farm-to-fork restaurant named The Forest Grill, and a dedicated event space for community gatherings. The casino floor has also doubled in size, offering over 900 slot machines alongside renovated facilities.

At the grand opening, officials unveiled an updated Point Place Casino Hotel logo, symbolising collaboration between the Oneida Indian Nation and local leaders. Ray Halbritter, the Nation's Representative and CEO of Turning Stone Enterprises, stressed that the expansion preserves the property's established character while enhancing guest experiences. Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jim Cunningham described the hotel as a catalyst for regional growth, highlighting its potential to create jobs and attract visitors. Assembly Member Brian Miller noted the broader momentum in Central New York, crediting the Oneida Indian Nation's role in revitalising the area. State Senator Joseph A. Griffo also linked the project to long-standing partnerships between the Nation and local stakeholders. While officials expect economic benefits, no specific figures have been released regarding the number of direct jobs created by the expansion since its March 2018 opening.

The expansion introduces new amenities, including a restaurant and event space, alongside an enlarged casino floor. Local leaders and the Oneida Indian Nation have framed the project as a key driver for tourism and economic development in Madison County. The updated facilities are now open to the public.
