O'Kearney's costly fold shifts momentum in PartyPoker Tour Seville showdown

A key hand unfolded at the PartyPoker Tour Seville €500 2026 Main Event between Dara O'Kearney and Francisco Garrido Cruz. The clash saw O'Kearney lose a large chunk of his chips after a tense showdown on the river. Both players entered the hand with very different stack sizes.

Cruz opened the action with a min-raise to 40,000 from UTG+1. O'Kearney, sitting in the Big Blind, was the only player to call.

The flop came 2♥ A♠ 9♠, and both players checked. The turn brought the 6♠, prompting O'Kearney to check-call an 80,000 bet from Cruz.

On the river (J♦), O'Kearney checked again. Cruz fired a second bet of 80,000, and this time, O'Kearney folded. The hand left him with just 260,000, while Cruz extended his lead to 1,230,000.

The fold marked a significant setback for O'Kearney in the tournament. His stack now sits at 260,000, while Cruz holds a commanding 1,230,000. The outcome shifts the momentum in Cruz's favour as play continues.
