The iconic Jeep Cherokee is making a comeback for the 2026 model year, bringing with it a fresh design, improved performance, and a host of new features.

Jeep unveiled the redesigned Cherokee in Brooklyn, introducing a new 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain. This hybrid setup, projected to deliver a combined fuel economy of 37 miles per gallon and a driving range exceeding 500 miles on a single tank, promises to make the Cherokee more efficient than ever before.

The 2026 Cherokee is larger in nearly every dimension, offering a more spacious cabin and 30 percent more cargo capacity than its predecessor. The profile of the new Cherokee adopts sharper edges and a taller, more assertive stance, reflecting a more squared-off, bold aesthetic.

Ground clearance for the 2026 Cherokee is eight inches, making it capable of handling various terrains with ease. The hybrid powertrain, along with the improved ground clearance, contributes to the Cherokee's best-in-class approach and departure angles of 19.6 and 29.4 degrees, respectively.
