Off-Broadway debut of Kyle Ayers' play, Hard To Say, set at SoHo Playhouse
Kyle Ayers, a stand-up comedian and writer, is set to star in the Off-Broadway premiere of "Hard To Say, A Comedy Show About Life with Chronic Pain" at the SoHo Playhouse in New York City from September 4 to September 14, 2025.
The show, which covers topics such as getting misdiagnosed, brain surgery, the surgery wearing off, and life when nothing works, is a poignant and humorous exploration of Ayers' experience living with Trigeminal Neuralgia, also known as "Suicide Disease." This rare nerve disorder causes frequent sudden and intense pain in the head and face.
SoHo Playhouse, under the leadership of Artistic Director Darren Lee Cole and Managing Director Britt Lafield, is committed to presenting the brightest and most talented artists. Established in 1996, SoHo Playhouse has evolved the concept of Off-Broadway Theater in the 21st century, much like its original tenant Edward Albee and his Playwright Unit Workshop.
Hard To Say is part of the International Fringe Encore Series and will run from September 4 to 14, 2025. The performances are Mondays through Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 5pm. Tickets for the show, which include fees, are $37.50.
Ayers, who has been featured in the Los Angeles Times for his comedy and the disease, promises a show that is both entertaining and enlightening. The run time of Hard To Say is 65 minutes.
