New York City is gearing up for a festive season packed with holiday shows, concerts, and dazzling light displays. From long-standing traditions like the Radio City Rockettes to new spectacles, the city offers entertainment for all ages. Many events have already drawn crowds, with some tickets selling out fast.

The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes returns this year, marking a century since the dance troupe first formed in 1925. Running since 1933, the show remains a holiday favourite, with multiple performances daily throughout the season.

Elsewhere, the Big Apple Circus opens on Friday, November 7, 2025, promising acrobatics, stunts, and comedy under the big top. For sports fans, *A Very Merry Knicks Christmas* takes place on December 25, with tickets nearly gone. Music lovers can enjoy a range of concerts across Europe, including *Adventskonzert* at Zwinger, Dresden (December 14, 2026), *André Rieu Weihnachtskonzert* at MECC, Maastricht (December 12, 2026), and *Weihnachtskonzert* at Kapuzinerkirche, Wien (December 29, 2026). Other performances include *Gaby Albrecht Weihnachtskonzert* at Johanniskirche, Magdeburg (December 6, 2026), and an *Adventskonzert* with choirs in Willisau (December 13, 2026). For those who prefer seasonal scenery, the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden showcases plant-based replicas of NYC landmarks. The Bronx Zoo's Holiday Lights exhibit features over 400 lanterns shaped like animals and plants. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's *Lightscape* offers an evening walk through glowing installations. Ice skaters can glide beneath the famous tree at the Rink at Rockefeller Center. Theatregoers can catch classic productions like *A Christmas Carol*, Mozart's *The Magic Flute*, and *A Charlie Brown Christmas*. The New York Philharmonic and The New York Pops also host festive concerts throughout December.

With performances spanning dance, music, and theatre, NYC's holiday lineup caters to all tastes. Light displays and skating rinks add to the seasonal cheer, while European concert dates offer more options for travellers. Many events are already in high demand, so early booking is advised.
