New York Resident Discovers Significant Diamond in Arkansas

Micherre Fox, a 31-year-old resident of the West Village, New York, made a remarkable discovery on July 29, 2025, when she found a 2.3-carat white diamond at Arkansas's Crater of Diamonds State Park. This diamond-hunting expedition was a personal commitment for Fox, as she was searching for a diamond to use in her future engagement ring.

Fox's journey began on July 8, 2025, after two weeks of intense training. She packed her tent, cot, and mining equipment and headed to the park, where she would spend the next three weeks in pursuit of her goal.

The Crater of Diamonds State Park, located in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, is a unique destination. It is the only public diamond-bearing site in the world where visitors can keep what they find. Since becoming a state park in 1972, it has yielded over 35,000 diamonds, including the record-holding 40.23-carat "Uncle Sam" diamond.

Fox's discovery is particularly significant as it is the third largest diamond found at the park in 2025. While it may not approach the record size at the park, it still ranks highly for the year as one of the largest diamonds uncovered at the parkβ€”a place where many find much smaller stones.

For Fox, the emotional significance of her find is heightened by the fact that she spent two years planning this personal quest. She believes that finding a diamond symbolizes being able to solve problems with hard work, rather than just money, in a relationship. Her diamond-hunting expedition was also a symbol of her belief that hard work is necessary to solve problems in a marriage, even when money runs out.
