Notice from Ahlhorn Highway Police Department
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, a car fire incident occurred on the A1 highway near the Rest Area Langwege-Ost, in the municipality of Dinklage, Delmenhorst region, Land of Wesermarsch.
The incident, which started around 1 PM, involved a BMW vehicle. Thankfully, the driver, a 32-year-old from Osnabrück, was able to leave the vehicle safely before it was completely engulfed in flames.
The Holdorf fire brigade was promptly on the scene to bring the fire under control and extinguish it. Due to their quick action, no danger was posed to other road users.
The exact nature of the incident is a car fire, and it is assumed that a technical defect was the cause. The surface of the highway was inspected by the Holdorf highway maintenance department and found to be undamaged.
Unfortunately, there is no publicly available information about the name of the driver who caused the car fire. The total damage is estimated at around 15,000 euros, and the vehicle had to be loaded onto a truck and towed away.
