Notable supermodel Naomi Campbell is stepping into the world of DJing for the first time.
Naomi Campbell, a renowned figure from the first generation of supermodels, made her debut as a DJ at the "Ye Summer Closing" electronic music festival in Munich, Germany. The event, held in a construction pit in the north of the city, attracted approximately 3,000 to 4,000 attendees.
The idea for Campbell to perform as a DJ at the festival originated when videos of her trying her hand at DJing in private circles circulated on social media. The organisers, impressed by her skills, approached her to perform at the event. The supermodel, who is still considered fantastic-looking at her current age of 55, accepted the offer and performed under the title "From the cover of 'Vogue' to the DJ stage."
Prior to taking the stage, Campbell crossed herself, showing a personal touch to her performance. Initially, she appeared somewhat nervous but gradually loosened up during her set. The headline act for the evening, Campbell's career achievements are widely recognised, and her presence at the festival drew a significant number of fans.
Anja Schroth, a fan, travelled from Nuremberg to Munich specifically to see Campbell. Schroth considers Campbell as her idol, and her excitement was palpable as she watched the supermodel take to the DJ booth. Some attendees of the festival were primarily there to see Campbell in person, demonstrating the enduring appeal of the supermodel.
Campbell's performance at the "Ye Summer Closing" festival marked her debut as a DJ, adding another string to her already impressive bow. This generation of supermodels, including Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, and Cindy Crawford, defined an entire era of fashion in the 1990s, and their influence continues to be felt today.
