North Rhine-Westphalia Launches 'Self-Protection Tips' Guide for Emergency Readiness
North Rhine-Westphalia has released a new guide, 'Self-Protection Tips for Emergency Situations', to help residents prepare for and respond to crises. The guide, part of the state-wide 'Ready like never before' campaign, aims to empower individuals and communities with practical, understandable tips.
Interior Minister Herbert Reul emphasizes the importance of self-preparedness, stating that taking responsibility for oneself and the community is crucial. The guide covers eleven typical emergency scenarios, including blackouts, fires, and the use of warning sirens. It is available in multiple formats - print, audio, digital, and an easy-to-understand language version, with an editable option for communities to print with their own logo.
The 31-page brochure will be distributed for free starting at the end of September. It can be found at Civil Protection Days, through regional governments, and aid organizations like ASB, DLRG, DRK, JUH, MHD, VdF, and THW. The digital version is also accessible at https://www.im.nrw/themen/gefahrenabwehr/versionen_selbstschutzguide. The guide provides answers on how to prepare for various crisis situations, such as power outages, storms, or extreme heat.
The 'Self-Protection Tips for Emergency Situations' guide is a comprehensive resource for North Rhine-Westphalia residents. It is designed to be accessible and immediately applicable, promoting self-preparedness and civil engineering awareness. The guide is a collaborative effort involving state authorities, municipalities, disaster relief organizations, fire departments, and local civil engineering groups.
