North Korean leader Kim Jong-un gathers families of soldiers deceased while battling on Russia's side against Ukraine.

In a significant development, North Korea has confirmed sending troops to support Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine. According to reports, approximately 10,000-12,000 North Korean soldiers were deployed to Russia last October, with a further 3,000 dispatched earlier this year.

The deployment, carried out in accordance with the historic 2024 defense treaty between North Korea and Russia, has been met with deep condolences from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. During a ceremony in Pyongyang, he paid tribute to the soldiers who returned from combat, expressing his sympathies to the families of officers who fell in foreign lands.

Kim Jong-un was seen sobbing in tears and placing posthumous state awards on the soldiers' corpses. He also presented photos of the martyrs to the families and promised to bring glory to the fallen soldiers and their families.

The context suggests a military conflict involving North Korea and Russia against Ukraine. However, the exact location of the deployment and the number of casualties reported remain unclear. South Korea's spy agency claimed an estimated 4,700 North Korean soldiers were reported to have been killed or wounded while fighting alongside Russia against Ukrainian forces.

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a statement thanking North Korea for its support, promising not to forget the sacrifices of North Korean soldiers. Kim Jong-un, in turn, promised the families a beautiful life, ahead of others.

Recently, Kim Jong-un met with the families of North Korean soldiers who died in the Ukraine war at the Mokran House in Pyongyang. He expressed his regret for the shocking news of the deaths and promised to provide the families with a beautiful life.

The situation involves North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, and South Korea. As the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un is directly involved in the situation. This deployment marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and raises concerns about the potential for further international involvement.
