Non-virtual playground for kids (and adults) opens on Las Vegas Strip
Fun is still possible in the real world, not just in the virtual world. This is one of the messages of Play Playground.
When the new attraction — made of real, physical materials and accessible only via old-school slides — opens early next year in a 14,000-square-foot space at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, it will be a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip Go to the first simulated playground.
“There’s no need to use VR when the original looks this much fun,” Play Social’s promotional materials say. Play Social, the Pelham, New York-based company responsible for opening the attraction, describes it as "a multi-dimensional, dynamic world that engages everyone." Senses “stimulates and facilitates social interaction through customized social play.”
Another message is that fun is not just for kids. In addition to its revival, Play Playground will become unique in inviting adults to ride its rides, at least on the Las Vegas Strip.
Its 17 games and attractions are open to "kids of all ages" during the day but only to those over 21 in the evenings, promising to take them "back to the carefree joy of childhood", while there are two Bar encouragement. "Dramatic cocktails and endless cheers."
Improved childishness
For these reasons and more, Play Playground reflects the strong influence of the popular and slightly trippy entertainment and arts district, which opened in 2020 in a series of warehouses near the Las Vegas Strip.
AREA15 is also open to all ages during the day, but is only open to adults in the evening.

Featuring "some" electronic components, Play Playground is also a gaming experience that offers "the excitement of competing on the leaderboards with old and new friends," according to its creators.
Play Playground features a VIP mezzanine and private event space that can be customized for corporate purchases, special events, conference attendees, and birthdays and other parties.
