In the heart of Dubai, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, the 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement' was born on September 4, 2025. This ambitious initiative, launched by Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director of the Wockhardt healthcare conglomerate, aims to foster compassion, equity, and unity worldwide.

Dubai, with its legacy as a convenor of global voices, was the perfect setting for this movement. The city had recently hosted a record-breaking peace summit that brought together 12 Nobel laureates in April at Expo City Dubai. The UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has established a foundation for tolerance and coexistence that is unparalleled in the world.

The 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement' is built on the foundation of world peace, which is based on inner peace through the practice of seven human values: gratitude, forgiveness, love, humility, giving, patience, and truth. The movement encourages individuals and institutions to commit to these values and to peace as a way of life.

The launch event was attended by several high-profile individuals, including Dr Asle Toje, Professor Mohan Munasinghe, Ouided Bouchamaoui, and Dr Khalid Ghanem Al Ghaith. Dr Ghanem, a member of the 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement', stated that the UAE is proud to support initiatives that promote harmony and foster understanding, tolerance, and fraternity across borders.

The movement has 12 key initiatives, including engaging nearly 2 million global online advocates and launching the Billionaires for Peace Conclave in February 2026. The vision emphasizes that peace needs to move beyond rhetoric and become a lived practice in homes, workplaces, and governments.

Professor Mohan Munasinghe, vice-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, believes that peace-building involves creating fair opportunities for all and upholding economic justice, environmental care, and social inclusion as pillars of lasting stability. Dr Khorakiwala stated that peace is a shared responsibility and a commitment that needs to be owned collectively.

The 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement' embodies values of understanding, tolerance, and fraternity, creating a space for leaders and citizens alike to commit to peace as a way of life. As the movement grows, it is hoped that it will foster a global culture of compassion, equity, and unity, making the world a better place for all.
