No Filter Poker Series debuts in Tallinn to revive poker's bold spirit
A new poker event has arrived to shake up the game. The No Filter Poker Series (NFPS) made its debut in 2025, founded by Swedish lawyer and businessman Mounir Taijou. The first festival, held in Tallinn, Estonia, aimed to bring back excitement to a game Taijou believes has grown dull in recent years.
Taijou first fell in love with poker because of its bold personalities—players like Phil Ivey, Chris Moneymaker, and Phil Hellmuth. But he now argues that modern poker has become 'too slow, too quiet, too boring'. His solution? The NFPS, designed to make the game fun, transparent, and accessible while staying within legal limits.
The No Filter Nordic & Baltic Championship Open kicked off in Tallinn with a mix of high-stakes play and entertainment. A documentary crew filmed the entire event, from a lavish boat ride and welcome dinner to intense poker sessions. Big names like Scotty Nguyen, Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, and Duncan Blake 'The Singing Poker Player' joined the action. Taijou also shared his controversial take on 'the negative effect of Tom Dwan' on today's poker scene. Meanwhile, the NFPS has partnered with PokerPro World to produce a documentary, *No Filter Poker Taking the World by Storm*. The series launched at a time when Sweden was debating the future of land-based casinos, adding another layer of intrigue to its arrival.
The NFPS has set out to revive poker's golden-era energy. With a star-studded lineup and a focus on entertainment, the Tallinn festival marked its first step. The documentary will soon show whether this bold approach can change the game for good.
