Nizhny Novgorod students to compete in military-applied sports tournament on April 1
A military-applied sports tournament for students aged 12–14 will take place on April 1 at School No. 69 in Nizhny Novgorod. The event brings together nine teams, each with six participants, to compete in a series of team-based challenges. The competition is organised by the school's administration, the Maxim Nastin Center for Military-Patriotic Education, and the city commission for minors' affairs and children's rights. Teams will face tasks such as assembling and disassembling a mock assault rifle, donning protective gear, and performing pull-ups.
Other events include a laser tag game and a military-patriotic quiz. The winning team will be decided by the highest cumulative score across all activities. At the end of the tournament, participants will craft keychains for servicemembers involved in the special military operation.
The tournament aims to test practical skills and teamwork among young students. The event will conclude with a hands-on activity to support military personnel. Organisers have not released details on similar competitions held in Russia over the past two years.
