Nintendo Switch 2 Delays Explained: Reasons Behind Multiple Setbacks

Reports suggest that these delays were due to Nintendo restricting access to development kits for the Switch 2, which in turn has impacted the release schedule of certain games, particularly free-to-play titles.

Despite these challenges, Osborn remains optimistic about the Switch 2's performance so far. The console sold around six million units within its first month, a testament to its appeal.

Nintendo has remained silent on these claims, declining to comment. However, a Bloomberg report suggests that the delays were due to Nintendo designers needing more time to perfect the accompanying games.

Osborn also sheds light on Nintendo's popular franchises, stating that while Donkey Kong may not be as popular as Mario, and Metroid may not be as popular as Zelda, they are still valuable assets for Nintendo.

In his view, for Nintendo to sustain its success, it needs to focus on a key area. While he did not specify what this area might be, his comments underscore the importance of strategic decision-making in the competitive video games industry.
