Newcastle United reportedly eyeing Nicolas Jackson for their top target in the latest Premier League signings

Nicolas Jackson, the striker who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £32m, has become a hot topic in the ongoing transfer market. With his impressive record of scoring ten or more Premier League goals in each season at Stamford Bridge, Jackson has caught the eye of several top clubs.

Aston Villa, under the guidance of Scott Minto, have identified Jackson as their priority signing for the remainder of the transfer window. Minto, a former player for the club, believes that Jackson's strength, speed, and ability to run the channels would be a valuable asset for Aston Villa.

However, Jackson's potential move to Villa Park could face competition from other interested parties. Bayern Munich, who are close to completing a loan deal from Chelsea with a record loan fee and an option to buy, have also shown interest in the striker. German giants Bayern can't be discounted as a potential suitor for Jackson.

AC Milan have also expressed interest in the Chelsea striker, adding another twist to the transfer saga. However, Chelsea currently value Jackson at around £80million, a figure that may prove challenging for potential buyers.

The Magpies have been trying to get a deal for Yoane Wissa concluded, but their efforts have been hampered by a rejected £40million bid. As a result, Newcastle United have also shown interest in Jackson, with Unai Emery, who worked with the striker at Villarreal, keen to be reunited with him.

The transfer window is drawing to a close, and time is running out for clubs looking to secure a deal for Jackson. However, Chelsea are aware that something could happen before the window shuts, as they currently have two strikers and are aware that something could happen.

Despite his potential, Jackson has not been without criticism. His tendency to miss chances and poor discipline, as evidenced by his red cards against Flamengo in the Club World Cup and Newcastle, have been points of concern. Enzo Maresca, Chelsea's manager, has confirmed that Jackson is available but will not play in the upcoming game against West Ham.

As the transfer deadline approaches, the race for Nicolas Jackson is heating up. Whether he will stay at Chelsea or move to a new club remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the striker's talent and potential have made him a coveted asset in the transfer market.
