New Year’s lottery turns Altai resident into an instant millionaire

A lucky resident of Altai Territory became a millionaire on New Year’s Day. The winner claimed 1 million rubles in the Mechtaillon lottery draw, marking the first big win of 2025. The ticket, bought for just 100 rubles, was purchased at a local post office in Barnaul.

The winning numbers were announced during the live broadcast on Channel One, which airs every Sunday. This latest win follows two other major prizes in Altai Territory last year: one resident took home 10 million rubles, while another won 1 million rubles.

Tickets for both draw-based and instant-win lotteries remain available at all post offices across the region. Prizes under 15,000 rubles can be collected directly at any Russian Post branch. No details about the winner’s identity have been released, as the information only became public after the official announcement.

The New Year’s draw has added another millionaire to Altai Territory’s list of lottery winners. With tickets easily accessible at post offices, more residents may try their luck in future draws. The next live broadcast will take place on the following Sunday, as usual.
