Hero MotoCorp Unveils the Xtreme 250R: A Premium Quarter-Litre Naked Street Bike

Hero MotoCorp, India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has entered the premium quarter-litre naked street bike segment with the launch of the Xtreme 250R. The new bike boasts a muscular and in-your-face design that is sure to appeal to many bikers, especially youngsters.

The Xtreme 250R is built around the same frame as the current generation Karizma XMR, but it looks more compact with a shorter wheelbase. The bike features a premium 43 mm USD fork and a monoshock setup for suspension, providing a smooth ride.

One of the standout features of the Xtreme 250R is its powerful new engine. The bike is equipped with a 250 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that produces 29.58 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm. This makes it more powerful than the 210 cc mill that powers the Karizma XMR. The bike also comes with disc brakes on both ends, ensuring efficient braking performance.

The Xtreme 250R's design is likely to appeal to a wide range of bikers. Its overall styling is muscular and aggressive, with a better sculpted muscular fuel tank that gives it a meaner and bigger look. The bike also comes with a brand new colour TFT cluster, which supports smartphone connectivity, enabling navigation, call/SMS alerts, and more.

In addition to these features, the Xtreme 250R also comes with different ride modes and a USB C-type charger as standard. Dual-channel ABS will come as standard on the bike, ensuring safety on the road. The bike's overall appeal feels quite premium, making it a strong contender in the premium European market, where Hero MotoCorp plans to enter.

The expected starting price of the Hero Xtreme 250R in India at its launch in January 2025 is approximately ₹2.00 lakh. However, there is no specific information available about its price in Europe at the sales start. The Indian price provides a rough benchmark, but European pricing may differ due to taxes, import duties, and market positioning.

With the launch of the Xtreme 250R, Hero MotoCorp has once again demonstrated its commitment to innovation and quality. The bike is sure to be a hit with bikers who are looking for a powerful, stylish, and feature-rich quarter-litre naked street bike.
