New Children’s Book *The Mysterious Sea* Unlocks Busch’s Hidden History

A new children’s book, The Mysterious Sea, is bringing the history of Busch to life for young readers. Funded by the Sparkassen Foundation in the Rhine-Kreis Neuss, the story follows Mia and Ben as they time-travel through key moments in the area’s past. The book will soon reach thousands of children in local schools and kindergartens—completely free of charge.

The book, written by Birgit Wilms, explores Busch’s rich heritage in a way that engages young minds. It covers the Roman settlement, the medieval monastery Meer, and the Theater of the Forum Wasserturm, all woven into an adventure tale. Around 5,500 copies have been printed and are now being bound before distribution.

The project combines education, creativity, and community involvement. Local children will explore Busch’s history through storytelling, while the art competition gives them a chance to showcase their talents. The book’s multilingual translations also extend its reach beyond the region.
