In the image there is a sea and around the sea there are many tall buildings, trees, street lights and it is a beautiful view of the city.

New children’s book *The Mysterious Sea* brings Busch’s history to life

A new children’s book, The Mysterious Sea, will soon reach young readers across Busch. Funded by the Sparkassen Foundation, the book takes children on a time-travel adventure through the town’s history. Alongside its release, a painting competition has been launched for local schools, with winning entries set to be displayed at the Sparkassen branch in Meebusch-Buederich.

Written by Birgit Wilms, the book follows Mia and Ben as they explore Busch’s past, from Roman times to the medieval monastery Meer. It also highlights local landmarks like the Forum Wasserturm theatre and explains how the town got its name. Around 5,500 copies have been printed and will be given free to children in Busch’s schools and kindergartens.

The project combines storytelling, education, and creativity. Free copies of The Mysterious Sea will reach children across Busch, while the competition encourages young artists to engage with local history. The winning pieces will go on display, with the mayor recognising their efforts at the Sparkassen branch.
