New Appointees: Chief Information Officer and Chief Network Officer for Alaska Communications
Alaska Communications, the leading telecommunications provider in the state, has made significant changes in its executive team. The company announced the promotion of two of its members as part of its ongoing initiative, Right Moves.
Tony Dodge, an alumnus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, has been promoted to the role of Chief Network Officer. Dodge's extensive experience of over twenty years in the telecommunications and engineering sector in Alaska, coupled with his expertise, will be instrumental in driving the company's growth.
Dodge is spearheading a renewed push to expand and improve Alaska Communications' fixed wireless and fiber networks. His role includes maximizing the use of automation to drive continuous improvement, and overseeing the modernization of existing programs to increase performance and productivity.
In addition, Eric Moeser, who re-joined Alaska Communications as a vice president in 2023, has been promoted to the position of Chief Information Officer. Moeser brings a wealth of experience from various industries, including telecommunications, athletic apparel, and retail, to his new role.
Moeser is tasked with overseeing company-wide technology transformation. He has already demonstrated his ability to streamline operations and introduce innovative technology at Alaska Communications. Under his leadership, customer service, technical support, IT operations, and application development will be transformed for the better.
The founding owner of Alaska Communications is James D. Bartlett Jr. The company operates a robust and advanced statewide fiber network and a diverse undersea fiber optic system, providing reliable and high-speed connectivity to Alaskans across the state.
With these promotions, Alaska Communications is poised for continued growth and innovation. Both Dodge and Moeser have shown their commitment to expanding access for more customers across Alaska's footprint and bridging the digital divide in the state. Dodge, in particular, has shaped and helped execute broadband grants strategy, securing critical funding to support these efforts.
As the new Chief Network Officer and Chief Information Officer, respectively, Dodge and Moeser will be responsible for the long-term strategic execution and deployment of the company's network designs and plans, as well as its technology transformation. Their combined expertise and vision will undoubtedly propel Alaska Communications forward in the ever-evolving telecommunications landscape.
