Neuwied’s Food Hotel redefines hospitality with supermarket flair

The Food Hotel in Neuwied has stood as a landmark for 15 years, blending hospitality with a unique supermarket-themed design. Recognised as the city’s leading hotel, it continues to shape local tourism while expanding its services under managing director Jörg Germandi.

The hotel first opened with a bold concept—Europe’s only supermarket-themed accommodation. Its 113 rooms include 46 individually designed suites, alongside diverse dining options. Eight years ago, an expansion added 63 single rooms, two of which are fully accessible, catering to business travellers.

The Food Hotel remains a cornerstone of Neuwied’s hospitality, combining innovation with community involvement. With its organic kitchen, cultural programming, and ongoing expansion, it continues to set standards for the city’s tourism and economic growth.
