Neighborhood resident issues homemade arrest orders

Last Tuesday, a 48-year-old man found himself at the centre of a controversial incident when he flew a private drone with his children in a residential area of Würzburg. The drone, which crashed at an unknown location, caused quite a stir in the city.

The incident unfolded in the Würzburg district of Frauenland, specifically at Alte Fernstraße, where the owner of the surveilled garden took offence to the drone's intrusion. The garden owner, not pleased with the disturbance of peace, took matters into his own hands and created and distributed wanted posters with pictures of the drone owner.

The drone owner, upon realising his drone was missing, then searched for it. His actions, however, led to the garden owner offering a reward of 100 euros for information leading to his identity. The argument between the two men escalated, leading to both parties facing legal consequences.

The drone owner is now under investigation for trespassing, while the garden owner is facing a complaint for a misdemeanour under the copyright law. The copyright lawsuit was filed by the law firm KSP, which handles claims related to unauthorized use, focusing on compensation for past damages rather than injunctions. The precise date of filing is not specified in the sources provided.

The Würzburg-Stadt police reported this incident on Saturday and were called to mediate the dispute. The suspected location of the drone was in the garden in question, but its whereabouts remain unknown.

This incident has sparked a discussion about privacy and the appropriate use of technology in residential areas. As the investigation continues, both parties await the outcome of the legal proceedings.
