Neighborhood Organizing Initiative Launches on October 9th
On October 9, 2025, the district authority and municipality of Hohenthann are hosting an informative event titled "Because We Are Neighbors". This event will take place in the parish hall St. Laurentius in Hohenthann, from 14:00 to 16:30.
The event is aimed at individuals interested in establishing an organized neighborhood help system in their community. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from successful practical examples shared by Ulrike Huettl from the Senior Citizens' Council Rottenburg and Stephanie Moeller from the ANNA neighborhood help Altdorf.
Doris Rudolf from the coordination office "Living in Old Age" will give a presentation on the basic tasks and organization of a neighborhood help system. She will also discuss the possibility of state funding for such a project.
The event will feature discussions with members of the neighborhood help initiatives in Binatal, Ergolding, Furth, Geisenhausen, Neufahrn, and Velden. These discussions promise to provide valuable insights into the functioning and benefits of neighborhood help systems.
Registration for the "Because We Are Neighbors" information event is open until 29.09.2025. Elisabeth Strasser, Senior Citizens' Representative for the Landshut District, is responsible for event registrations. You can contact her via phone at 0871 4082116 or email at [email protected] for registration inquiries.
