Nebraska's casinos shatter revenue records with $261M in 2025 growth
Nebraska's casino industry saw record-breaking growth in 2025, with annual revenue soaring past $261 million—almost double the previous year's total. December alone set a new high, as the state's five casinos earned over $26 million, up sharply from the same month in 2024.
The surge in revenue came as major casinos expanded their operations. WarHorse Gaming's two locations in Omaha and Lincoln led the way, pulling in more than $177 million combined. WarHorse Casino Omaha alone reported the highest monthly earnings in December, with $9.2 million.
Other casinos also posted strong gains. Harrah's Columbus saw its annual revenue climb from around $18 million in 2024 to over $25 million in 2025. Meanwhile, Grand Island Casino Resort nearly doubled its earnings, jumping from $35 million to nearly $55 million in the same period. Slot machines remained the biggest revenue driver, generating $21.7 million statewide in December. The industry's growth also boosted tax collections, with a 20% rate delivering over $52 million to state and local governments. Of that, the Property Tax Credit Fund received more than $36 million from casino taxes alone.
The expansion of casino facilities and higher visitor spending pushed Nebraska's gambling sector to its best year yet. With tax revenues rising alongside industry profits, the state's five casinos have become a major economic contributor.
