Nassauische Heimstätte Funds Two Hesse Groups for Violence Prevention and Integration

Nassauische Heimstätte | Wohnstadt (NHW) has awarded grants to two local organisations under its 2021 'Building Bridges' theme. Each received €2,500 to support their work in violence prevention and social integration. The funding highlights NHW’s ongoing commitment to community projects across Hesse.

The two selected organisations were Schule machen ohne Gewalt (SMOG) and the Hesse Football Social Foundation’s Fair Play Hessen platform. SMOG, a registered association, specialises in helping schools and daycare centres tackle violence and addiction through training programmes. Currently, the group is seeking more trainers to meet rising demand for its seminars.

Fair Play Hessen, based in Frankfurt am Main, focuses on social initiatives within football. Run entirely by volunteers, the platform promotes violence prevention, integration, and fair play in sports. Both organisations rely on external funding to expand their reach and impact. NHW’s donation strategy ensures an even split between northern and southern Hesse. Beyond these grants, the company also supports food banks and distribution networks (Tafeln) in Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Offenbach, Fulda, and Marburg. Their contributions include both financial aid and in-kind donations.

The €2,500 grants will assist SMOG and Fair Play Hessen in continuing their community-focused work. NHW’s funding reflects its broader mission to strengthen social cohesion through targeted support. Both organisations will use the resources to address key challenges in education and sports.
