N26's Co-founder Valentin Stalf to resign as CEO and assume a position on the Supervisory Board.
The Swiss Financial Innovation Desk (FIND), established two years ago to foster fintech innovation, is integrating into the State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF) from 1 September 2025. This move comes in response to the high demand for fintech innovation in Switzerland, as the country aims to be one of the world's leading locations in digital financial services.
Launched as a catalyst for any matters relating to financial innovation in Switzerland, FIND has brought together projects, research, investors, and authorities at national and international levels. Under the leadership of Eva Selamlar-Leuthold, the FIND team, consisting of Selamlar-Leuthold and three part-time colleagues, has successfully fulfilled its mission as a two-year pilot project.
The integration of FIND into SIF will see the Capital Markets and Infrastructure unit within SIF being retitled "Markets and Innovation" and complemented by FIND as an Innovation Desk. Nicolas Brugger will lead the Innovation Desk within SIF, but the leadership of the overall unit emerging from the Swiss Financial Innovation Desk within SIF has not been explicitly named.
The FIND annual report, which includes initiatives like the Pathway 2035 for Financial Innovation, Your Navigator guide, SwissHacks (fintech hackathon), and the 2025 Innovation Tour, was featured in a post on LinkedIn, indicating that FIND has been successful in its endeavours. Established services and events, including FIND Map and SwissHacks, will be retained and parts of the FIND website will be integrated into SIF's site.
SIF Head of Capital Markets and Infrastructure, Julie Tomka, stated that her team is "growing and taking on new responsibilities." This growth is evident in the integration of FIND, which is expected to further strengthen Switzerland's position in the digital financial services sector.
The integration of FIND into SIF is in line with the recommendations made in a 2022 Federal Council report on digital finance. Switzerland's aim to be one of the world's leading locations in digital financial services will continue under the leadership of SIF, involving public authorities, academia, and the private sector, with a focus on inclusion and networking of various stakeholders.
The Federal Department of Finance is credited for the featured image. The integration of FIND into SIF is a significant step towards achieving Switzerland's ambitious goals in digital finance, and it is expected to drive further innovation and growth in the fintech sector.
