Mystery behind forest blazes remains unsolved
A forest fire broke out in Hackenbroicher Straรe, Delhoven, on Monday afternoon around 16:00. According to initial findings by the Police Headquarters Rhein-Kreis Neuss, transmitted via news aktuell, the fire was either intentionally or negligently set by unknown persons.
Firefighters were quick to respond and were able to extinguish the flames, preventing the fire from spreading. However, several tree trunks were on fire, covering an area of approximately three by three meters.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. The North Rhine-Westphalia Forestry Act prohibits open fires in the forest and within 100 meters of it. It is also forbidden to smoke in the forest between March 1 and October 31. Carelessly discarded cigarette butts can pose a significant fire hazard in dry conditions, and hot catalytic converters and exhaust systems can ignite dry grass.
The Police Headquarters Rhein-Kreis Neuss Press Office can be contacted at Julicher Straรe 178, 41464 Neuss, or via email at [email protected]. Witnesses are asked to call the Criminal Investigation Unit 11 at 02131 300-0.

It is also important to note that parking should only be done on paved surfaces in the forest, and access roads to the forest should always be kept clear for large fire department vehicles.
The Police Headquarters Rhein-Kreis Neuss urges the public to be vigilant and responsible when visiting forests during dry conditions. The information for this article was originally published by ots.
