Museum Schwarzenacker's opening program kicks off on July 8th
The Roman Museum Foundation, under the leadership of CEO Philipp Scheidweiler, is gearing up for an exciting summer ahead. From July 8, 2025, to August 12, 2025, the museum will transform into a Roman experience world, inviting guests from the region and beyond to participate in the "Summer with the Romans" program.
The program offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in history and take a well-deserved break. According to Simone Abel, head of museum education, visitors can expect a memorable holiday day filled with educational and entertaining activities.
One of the highlights of the program is a special exhibition on the Roman bride Desideria, housed in the historic Edelhaus of the Roman Museum Schwarzenacker. The exhibition, titled "Desiderias Hochzeit" (Desideria's Wedding), promises to be a fascinating exploration of the life and times of this remarkable woman.
In addition to the exhibition, the program includes a creative workshop for visitors to express their own Roman-inspired creations. For those with a keen sense of discovery, an archaeological hands-on excavation is available, where young explorers can dig for hidden treasures.
The museum grounds will also feature a picnic area for relaxation, allowing visitors to enjoy the extensive outdoor space and soak up the Roman atmosphere. Regular museum entrance fees apply separately for those who wish to explore the museum beyond the "Summer with the Romans" program.
For more information about the program, including participation fees for the creative workshop and archaeological excavation, please visit the museum's website at www.roemermuseum-schwarzenacker.de. You can also contact the museum directly at 06848/730777 for more details.
Philipp Scheidweiler expresses his enthusiasm for the upcoming program, looking forward to welcoming many guests and making this summer an unforgettable experience for all.
