Erfurt's Asian market - Murder involving a hammer in a pasta kitchen.

The popular wholesale market at An der Lache in Erfurt serves as the focal point for the Vietnamese community in Thuringia. It's where restaurant owners and traders purchase their goods, and the well-regarded "Pho Bui" canteen, also part of the market, is renowned for its delicious noodle soup.

A Return Visit

Since the incident on Friday night, this area of the state capital, together with the canteen, has been cordoned off with flutter tape, and the buildings sealed. Police are conducting an extensive operation, utilizing forensics and forensic technicians to examine the pasta kitchen.

Accounts from witnesses suggest that a heated argument unfolded between the janitor and the manager of the wholesale market in the late afternoon on Friday. The employee snapped, snatching a hammer, and proceeded to assault his superior. Following the incident, he left the building, driving away in his vehicle. However, three hours later, he apparently returned to the scene - accompanied by his spouse and the victim's wife.

Both the victim and the assailant are believed to be Vietnamese. The authorities confirmed the comprehensive operation, as they suspect the situation to involve a homicide. The suspect has been taken into custody and will face a magistrate today.
