Munich's Federal Police Directorate has made an arrest for an alleged early return violation.
Romanian Man Arrested and Re-Imprisoned for Border Violation
A 34-year-old Romanian man was arrested upon entering German territory on the A93 near Kiefersfelden on Sunday afternoon, April 13. The arrest was made by the Rosenheim Federal Police Inspectorate, which operates along a roughly 200-kilometer stretch of the German-Austrian border.
The man had previously served a multi-year prison sentence for violating the Narcotics Act, as ruled by the Nuremberg-Fürth Regional Court. Following his release from Bayreuth prison in September 2020, he was deported from Germany. However, the man was found to have a six-year ban on entry, imposed by the district office in Roth.
Upon his arrest, the federal police discovered the ban and immediately took the man to Bernau Prison. The man's arrest took place on the platform of Rosenheim.
The Rosenheim Federal Police Inspectorate is responsible for the counties of Miesbach, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the city and county of Rosenheim. The federal police station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is also assigned to this inspectorate.
The Rosenheim Federal Police Inspectorate is particularly active against cross-border crime and works mainly against the smuggling of foreigners and irregular, illegal migration. The inspectorate has approximately 450 members and ensures the safety of rail passengers and installations on approximately 370 kilometers of track and at about 70 stations and stops.
