The basketball world is abuzz with speculation as the round of 16 of the Euro Championship approaches, with the focus on Germany's star coach, Alex Mumbru. Mumbru's participation in the upcoming game against Portugal is uncertain due to a recent medical emergency.

Last Monday, Mumbru was hospitalised in Tampere, Finland, due to acute abdominal pain. The exact nature of his condition remains undisclosed, but he has since recovered from a stomach ailment and resumed training on Thursday.

Mumbru's fitness level and role in the game will be determined on game day after a conversation with the medical department. If he is not fully fit, his assistant, Alan Ibrahimagic, will take over the main responsibility.

Ibrahimagic has proven his mettle in the group stage, leading the German team to five consecutive wins. He is prepared for both scenarios, ready to step up if Mumbru is unable to lead the team.

The game between Germany and Portugal is scheduled for Saturday at 14:15 CET and will be broadcast on RTL and Magentasport. The match will take place in Riga, Latvia, where the basketball Euro Championship is being held.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Mumbru's participation, the German team remains optimistic. They are confident that, whether led by Mumbru or Ibrahimagic, they will put up a strong fight in the round of 16.

Stay tuned for more updates as the basketball Euro Championship continues to unfold.
