Mumbai Weather Forecast: Expect Sporadic Showers Today, Hefty Downpours Predicted for September 3-4
Mumbai Weather Forecast for September 1, 2025: Slight Cooling with Scattered Showers
According to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai is expected to experience mixed weather conditions on September 1, 2025. The city has been experiencing intermittent rainfall over the past few days, with cloudy skies and scattered rain observed on Monday, August 31, 2025.
The IMD has issued no rain alert for Mumbai, indicating generally calm weather with occasional showers. Currently, light spells of rain are being witnessed in Mumbai during the day, with some areas receiving moderate showers.
While temperatures have shown a slight decline, minimum temperatures in Maharashtra will remain in the range of 24°C to 26°C. On Sunday, Santacruz recorded a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 29 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures across Maharashtra are expected to hover between 33°C and 35°C.
Weather officials expect similar conditions on Tuesday, with temperatures likely to rise again, possibly touching the 30°C mark. Some regions in Maharashtra are expected to receive scattered rainfall.
In the Konkan belt, light to moderate showers have been predicted. Coastal districts, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, are expected to be the most affected. A yellow alert has been issued for some districts in Konkan and Vidarbha, signalling the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Heavy rainfall events were observed previously in Konkan, and the region is under alert for continued intense rains, with potential for flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas. However, specific rain amounts for September 2, 2025, are not detailed.
On the brighter side, the IMD forecast predicts more than 109% of the long-period average rainfall for September in Konkan and Vidarbha. This suggests a generally wetter September for these regions.
Despite the slight cooling, residents continue to experience muggy conditions, as humidity levels remain high, with relative humidity recorded at 85 percent on Sunday.
It's worth noting that a heavy rain alert has been issued for September 3 and 4 in Mumbai. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions.
